Is an accessibility statement mandatory?
For businesses offering services to consumers that fall under the BFSG, yes: § 14 BFSG and Annex 3 require this information. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt.
What must the statement contain?
A general description of the service, explanations of how to use it, how the accessibility requirements are met, and the competent market surveillance authority.
Where do I publish the statement?
On its own page, linked in the footer of every page, or in your terms and conditions. The page itself must be accessible.
